Assassin's Creed Reveals Unexpected AoT Crossover for Holiday Season
In a unexpected partnership that challenges conventional predictions, Ubisoft has unveiled an virtual collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event continues from November 25 through December 22, offering free bonus story content for Shadows players.
Strange Questline Uncovered
According to the formal release, "A mysterious meeting pulls protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a original adventure, where rumors of prohibited rituals and monstrous changes reverberate through the obscurity." The narrative introduces a "strangely garbed woman named Ada" who charges the duo with traveling into the Crystalline Cavern—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her friend from a clandestine group.
The adventure centers on "bizarre trials and a terrifying foe" and is open to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Locations and Changes
The trailer features the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This important location was earlier where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The trailer finishes with a striking scene showing a character, likely the captive, transforming into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Prizes and Bonus Features
Players who accomplish the adventure will receive an unique katana together with multiple objects secreted throughout the area in secret chests. The update also contains in-store Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-themed costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe

This release also introduces the game's latest no-cost story episode, titled "The Mystery." Faithful to its name, "The Enigma" also includes a fresh environmental puzzle that may finally shed light on some unresolved questions from the main storyline.

The series previously featured a 2020 collaborative story linking Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga. Additionally, Valhalla subtly contained a quest that unmistakably nodded to the well-known series One-Punch Man.
